Blog Length Excerpts

    Dear All

    does anyone know how to restrict the length of the Excerpt in a Blog Post please? I’ve drafted a few Posts and they are all full page; in other Themes I’ve used there is a way of only showing 4-5 lines followed by the symbols […]and Read More.

    I’ve read somewhere that you can alter this in the index.php file but it looks a bit scary.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi legal_lifeboat. I tried changing my Reading options to Summary, but that didn’t work, so I changed the following line in the content.php file…

    Within the <div class="entry-content post_content"> portion fo the code, change the_content to the_excerpt.

    This seems to work partially, however I don’t see any text instructing readers to “continue reading” as suggested by the rest of the code.

    Anyone else?
