Hi –my client has always done long posts and it has never seemed to be a problem before the upgrade to 3.8 but when they try to post longer posts to Facebook with the social broadcast they get this message:

Content must not be longer than 420 characters.

…and the post is then never broadcast. Is there a fix for this?

    Thank you!

  • The 420 char limit has always been the Facebook status post character limit in Social (matching the Fb limit at the time Social we written, perhaps it has changed since).

Thanks Alex – yes it changed a while ago. Is there something I can change in the code to allow it to go through? I found the file that has the code to show the error and I seen the %limit code but not sure what needs to be changed to allow these to go through for them….thanks

Might get changed in next release:

    search the code for 420.

Thanks Alex — I did search but got no returns for it – but I will check again — otherwise I will wait for the new release and they can hang in there! 🙂
