Deleting subscribers with no luck

I have recently switched from the Jetpack subscription sign-up to Mail Chimp.

I am finding it impossible to delete the followers from the Jetpack list. I don’t want all my subscribers to receive two of the same notifications.

I was referred to the Jetpack forum, but they consistently dance around the issue in post after post.

Any help out there!
