  • search for flickr plugin, I like that one for its simplicity
there’s also coppermine/wordpress plugin, also search for that

The Flickr one is nice, especially with the ability to group pictures into sets together. Unfortunately, the fact that you can only have a maximum of three sets unless you pay for premium access, is a little bit of a letdown. 🙁

only three set? that sucks, I was planning to use it. Not anymore, I guess.

yeah thanks, ive run into that album also and download it but then it mentioned something about api and requestion some key …
then it was time to kick it again….
So with all the plugings created nobody came up with the idea to do a album plugin ?
Just one that nicely integrates with the wordpress …..

I think he means that a plugin where you can put it in with your WP site without looking completely separate from it.

    yes indeed edpham is right.
weird that nobody come up with the idea to create one.
i have the album/gallery installed from rebelpixel ..demo : http://rebelpixel.com/photos/
I have it running for a long time now and personaly i think its the best.
The uploading and creating albums goes flawless.
But the support is like zero ….. so any attemps to get some ideas of the ground for some integrating work is useless.
I know the other galleries guys you mentioned but they are all to heavy for wordpress..
the one from rebelpixel would be a nice candidate…

singapore is sorta similar to rebelpixel at a glance. version 0.9.10 is just released and one feature mentions easy integration with existing website. It’s got support forum, so if you want to check it out

    thanks alphaoide,looks nice … 🙂
sure am gonna install it and see how it goes,…..
was just playing around with “exhibit” and that can also create some nice stuff but what i dont understand is why its created in a way most people cant use it because the safe mode problem you run into.
The album of rebelpixel writes to the directory and everything and doesnt have a problem whatsoever.
So its weird why something like “exhibit” is build that way.

IMO most of the photo gallery apps out there that aren’t standalone aren’t worth the effort. I spent a lot of time a while back trying to find something that equals the elegance and quality of WP to integrate into the blog, but none were up to the task. In fact, many of the standalone apps aren’t all that great either. Mostly they seem to be focussed on getting your image online with minimal hassle, and from that point on they choke.

An image gallery I have used for a non-WP site is this one:
    http://www.stadtaus.com/en/php_scripts/gallery_script/
    PHP
    no database
Easy to install / use – I did it !!!
It’s not free, just keep a link back to Ralf’s site.

    well i know that one…
but for now as long im not convinced by another script il stick to that rebel thing.
    thats so easy…even for me…he……..he

The flickr gallery that Ray wrote is still a very nice plugin. His latest release of 0.5 fixed many bugs and it is quite customizeable. I did cough up the extra cash ($40) for the flickr pro membership (which allows you unlimeted photo sets, bandwidth, etc) and I have been very pleased. I only see flickr becoming more popular as time goes by and I think the yearly membership fee (while maybe a little steep) is worth in it terms of not having to worry about the bandwidth for photos coming from ‘my’ server resources and also neat additions like the ‘Tags’ feature which uses javascript to allow you to map out certain areas of a photograph and explain them with a mouseover command. A look at my flickr gallery using Ray’s plugin can be found at http://www.idowens.com/wordpress/gallery.php

There’s definitely a need for a tightly integrated gallery/thumbnail maker for Word Press.
Hmm, perhaps I’ll comission my developers to pull something together.

    now that would be nice….
im willing to pay some bucks for that….
but it has to be wp style…
so that when viewing the albums the left or right menu (whatever people want) stays ..
    thats a nice integration..
And the admin part…..should that be integrated into the wp administration…?
    Personaly i dont mind..
I created links to hidden stuff in my administration as well and not all are related to the wp.
So a simple link would be fine..
