• I’m new to this plugin, so the answer might be right in front of me and I just am not seeing it.

I have a website http://www.arklatexmoaa.org based on an Artisteer theme. The website has a number of widget areas (left, right and bottom) on most pages. Two pages do not have the sidebar widgets.

The first problem is that when the Print Friendly button is pressed to generate the print PDF, it does not ‘see’ the sidebars.

The second problem is on the Activities page (the calendar page) when the PDF is generated, it stops above the calendar.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

  • Hi,

PrintFriendly was created to strip the sidebar — making a clean printable page free from sidebar widgets and ads. If you want any areas to add to print that aren’t currently being added, you might want to explore additional PrintFriendly custom commands such as class=”print-only”.

    #aisajib,

Thanks for the reply. While I understand the concept of the custom commands, I’m at a loss as to how (and where) to implement class=”print-only”. If you could provide an example, it would really be helpful.

    Hi,

Getting this done might be a little tricky if you’re not familiar with code on your site. You can start exploring “Appearances -> Editor” and put div class=”print-only” to single.php/content.php, page.php, sidebar.php and everywhere else you want. Here’s how to add this to content.php/single.php.

This was shown for when part of the main post does not appear. But since your case is different as you want to get the sidebar in print as well, I recommend you getting some experts help. You could also try this out by yourself but it wouldn’t be advisable on a live site (and without making a backup first).
