• Background: I’m using Genesis 2.0.2 and a plugin called Genesis Post Teasers on my category and tag archive pages.

What I want to do: I want to edit the post teasers plugin output so that it displays my custom meta descriptions rather than the excerpt. Does anyone know how to make this happen? I’m not great at editing php, but it seems like I could add a few lines of code to my functions.php to tell my site to pull the meta description instead of the excerpt.

If it’s relevant, I have never written a custom excerpt for my site. I don’t foresee any potential issues by displaying the meta description instead of the excerpt in my archives.

Thank you so much for your help!

Another idea: if anyone knows how to copy all of my meta descriptions to my excerpt fields (again, all of the excerpt fields are currently blank), that would surely work, too.
