This morning I upgraded from WP 2.0.1 (I think) to 2.5.1. I’m still able to log into my admin portion of the site on /wp-admin but when I go to view my site http://www.fixpert.com it’s completely blank — the homepage as well as any sub-pages.

I backed everything up before the upgrade. Any ideas?

    thanks!!

  • Disable all your plugins and reactivate them one by one. Maybe you have an older plugin that doesn’t work well with 2.5.1 (there are quite a few).

I am having the same problem. I am getting a 500 error on every page of the site. After searching the support forums, I haven’t had any luck with any of the current solutions, and I don’t know where to start.

I’ve had this same issue as well. I’ve deleted and re-installed twice, and deleted the plugins directory, and the front page still comes up blank. This is the site. This is a masked redirect to legacyofthevortex.com/rants if that matters.

I had same problem when I was upgrading to 2.5.1
there are some error after following upgrade instruction
than I remove all files except one folder wp-content.
next step is I reinstall the new 2.5.1 version.
But I did not make new database I am still using old database so all my posting is there.
then continue with step 5 in instruction, it will ask to upgrade and press upgrade link. in few moment it will be ready.
When I open in the first time my blog it was white blank than I press reload on my Firefox browser, it work

@fixpert – is your wp-content/themes folder intact? Can you change Themes to the WordPress 1.6 Default Theme?

@echopulse – maybe an .htaccess problem or not enough memory allocated to PHP – check your logs (or ask host company to check logs).

@jackpolo – it looks like you have not posts. If you used to have posts, then might restore backups.

@anayan – you should be following the Upgrading WordPress instructions, not the INSTALLING article.

@jonimueller – I did deactivate all plugins per the upgrading instructions. Thanks though!

@echopulse – hmm, interesting. I’m not even getting a 500 error, just a blank page.

@anayan – thanks for the tips!

@michaelh – I still have WordPress Default 1.5, so I switched to that but still a blank site. Can I download Default 1.6 from the WP themes site?

    thanks all!!

That means you haven’t uploaded the 2.5.1 files completely.

@michaelh – ahh! Ok, thanks, so at least we’re narrowing down on the issue, I’ll go back through the process of deleting old WP files, and then uploading the new 2.5.1 files per the detailed upgrade instructions. Thanks again!!

@michaelh – Thanks! This worked. Now my site is back in action. I have to use the WordPress Default theme, because I guess my custom theme is broken in WordPress 2.5.1.

Is there any documentation on theme breaks / fixes for this upgrade to 2.5.1?

    My site has totally disappeared.

    I’m getting this message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_the_terms() (previously declared in /home/carlo10/public_html/wp-includes/category-template.php:489) in /home/carlo10/public_html/wp-content/plugins/autotag/extract-terms.php on line 232

    Can anyone help me please!
