    Hello,
I didn't think and switch hosting with out doing anything right, now I am wondering if there is anyway to recover my old blog. I have part of it downloaded on my computer because I had a very modified theme. Is there anyway to recover some of this? I am not super advanced with my understanding of php etc... but any help would be really apprecaited. my website is www.elaynaalexandra.com /notebook is where my blog is (was) and now i tried something and installed a new one I guess through my hosting company but I can not figure out if there is anyway to get part or all of my other blog back!

    Thanks!!!!

You switched hosts, which means you pointed your domain servers to your new host.

Now, do you still have access to your old hosting account--if so you might be able to do a backup of the database and possible get FTP access through an IP address to get any customized WordPress files.

Of course, if you have your old hosting account, you could repoint your name servers back to your old host, export the posts with Manage->Export, then point the name server to the new host, then use the Manage->Import->WordPress thing.

No I don't still have access to my old host, it is a long story with the old host but lots of problems there! So should I just consider myself out of luck! or is there still some some hope, it has to be there somewhere in cyber space right?

Well you could try googling and see what shows up in the cache, but design wise you are probably out of gas unless you kept the theme on your hard drive somewhere. You might try The Wayback Machine, http://www.waybackmachine.org
