  • Hmm, that’s a bit strange but I’m not sure how much we can influence this. To take that specific example, the following address is passed to Google’s geocoder:

    Main Road Burnham Deepdale Norfolk PE31 8FB United Kingdom

    What comes back, which is different from pasting that same address or just the postcode directly into Google Maps, is the point you are seeing. We’re really rather dependent on Google for this, I’m afraid, however we are considering a different strategy that might help with this sort of situation going forward.

    Bizarre isn’t it. Would be great to get sorted as we’d love to use the calendar plugin and buy the pro version so we can promote lots of events, but with the current mapping they’ll all end up being placed in the same place rather than different points along the road.

    Definitely.

    We are looking at some changes (to consistently pass longitude and latitude across for all map uses) that could improve things in this sort of scenario, but that’s something that is yet to be scheduled.
