Support » Everything else WordPress » Require to upload a robots.txt file for WordPress?

  • Hello,
Have a WordPress SEO question. From what I understand, WordPress creates a virtual robots.txt file. Does this mean I don’t have to worry about uploading a robots.txt file to my directory to help my SEO? I’ve run my site thru SEO performance tests and they always come up that my site doesn’t have a robots.txt.

Should I manually upload one? If so, please let me know what code needs to be included or point me to a reference site.

    Thanks!!

That’s exactly what it means. You’re fine if you have Pretty Permalinks turned on.

Go to yourdomain.com/robots.txt and you’ll see it.
