   How can I redirect my authors to the main page after posting?

   well, you can't - not without some hacking anyway.

   They're authors though, can't they be trusted to find their own way? after all, they're being trusted with adding content.

   Maybe what you want isn't really authors.... have a look at this it allows you to to accept posts from people who have no business in the admin panel.

   I know about TDO mini forms but it's not going to work in my case. I need this even if I'll have to hack a code a little bit...
