Heya, just wanted to show off my personal portfolio/blog site that I've been working on for awhile. Had fun scrounging the codex for answers on how to hack Wordpress into a portfolio site. It was quite enjoyable.
Hope you enjoy: http://www.jessesutherland.com/
Simple, attractive, obvious navigation.
Very nice.
Yes it is very nice..
One thing though, on your about page -- is there a reason you refer to your wife as a girl, and not a woman??
Did you marry a 12 year old?
That's pretty impressive! I've never heard of a 12 year old 2nd grade teacher before.
:)
Well if we're going to nitpick... we should point out that "who" should be "whom".
im not nitpicking :) im honestly curious. And obviously, I can ascertain that she is not 12. (it's a rhetorical question, in this case) Were it NOT for the references to what she does for a living, that might NOT be so easily gathered though.
My youngest neice is 12, she is a girl.
Are you a boy? I am sure the USMC would certainly say not.
By the way, your niece has a great site. Good job for her.

Sorry, no plug ins on this Wordpress site, at the time I was trying to keep it really simple and able to be upgraded without any troubles of waiting for plug-ins to upgrade. I used a few custom fields and worked with the themeing files.
I have thought about using the More Fields plug-in though, as it would simplify the custom field thing a bit.
I like the design -- it's simple, clean, and effective. It looks a bit ominously dark, however -- perhaps more suited to a goth lifestyle than what you're writing about.
PS. I know many women who refer to themselves and each other as girls (they have girls nights out, etc) and it's not uncommon to hear about the "boys" in Iraq or, (in the UK) the "boys in blue" (police). So I don't really see this as much of an issue.
And here I was looking for a good fight!
