    Hi:

Wondering how current the Legal Pages are in this plugin??

There’s a plugin developer who is promoting the need to get current on Privacy Policy & T&S because of recent California Law changes and BBB enforcement activities as stated here:

    http://onlinelegalpages.com/privacysimplified/

Your Generic Privacy Policy Isn’t Enough

Beginning January 1, 2014, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) will begin auditing and enforcing their Online Interest-Based Advertising Accountability Program, which focuses on making clear to website visitors when data is gathered for Online Behavioral Advertising (OBA).

Website publishers are expected to provide their visitors with “enhanced notice.” This means you cannot simply rely on the ad networks to take care of your responsibilities. The BBB also states that the enhanced notice link should be separate from your privacy policy link and at least as prominent.

Privacy is THE Issue of 2014

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the news, consumer privacy will be THE hot-button issue of 2014. As technology advances to bring marketers more and more data about individual site visitors (and pass that data on to other third parties), consumer advocates within the government and non-profit agencies are scrambling to ensure that consumer privacy rights are in the forefront of legislation.

In fact, California Governor Jerry Brown recently signed into law a bill amending the California Online Privacy Protection Act to require website privacy notices to disclose how your site responds to “Do Not Track” signals, and whether third parties may collect personal information when a consumer uses the site.

This is the first law in the United States to impose disclosure requirements on website publishers that tract consumers’ online behavior.

Home to Facebook, Google and many of the world’s largest tech companies, “When California passes a measure, it can unleash a wave of measures across the country.” — Jon Lupovitz, vice president of policy at Common Sense Media.

    Thank You!

    Hi Localsearch

Can you point me to a relevant sample “enhanced notice” so that I can add it as a separate section in an upcoming version.

    Howdy:
I would assume they’re using their own product…so, at the very bottom of the page on the above link?
