1. This is a very good plugin if it doesn't have the bug.
2. There is no easily visible means to make bug reports.
It'll be nice when fixed. Until it is, it is unusable. This is too complex a plugin to not have more comprehensive bug-tracking support.

Works fine for me. You just need to ensure that the URL compatibility box is checked on the Options page, otherwise all URLs are exposed.

Valid HTML links, as created by WP-editor, are corrupted by WP-MediaWiki.
I suggest to protect them before external_links process.
