  • UGH! NOOOO! You do NOT want to use MS Word for this. It will cause you nothing but headaches.

    In other words, nope.

MS word is a word processing software, not a Web Authoring tool. Hence it is not possible.

You should try w.bloggar http://wbloggar.com/ new rc2 supports WordPress.

Blogger.com now has a plugin available for MS Word. As much as I hate to admit this would be a great plug-in for WordPress. Kudos to the person that creates it for wordpress.

You could directly email to your blog from Word. It does work for me but not entirely correct. I am still trying to get the information to be interpreted correctly.

The problem with Word is that it wants to put a bunch of it’s own formatting junk into the file…. it’s just not very practical. And the concept of blog my mail escapes me. seems like it would be just as easier to open the webbrowser, login and type the posting. But it’s just me, for others, it works just fine. But, strangely enough, I find myself using text editors like Notepad to compose my posts (especialy if it’s long one, I can easily save it as I go) and then copy/pasting it into WP. I’ve actualy thought about doing a “blog by file” type of plugin… but then I guess that’s not all that different from blogging by mail is it? 🙂

Blog by email is best for moblogging but can also be used in situations like at work (during lunch of course) where you can send emails but can’t surf the net or if your site contains material that isn’t safe for work.

I read about Blogger’s plugin for MS Word back when they launched it and it sounded like it actually did the job cleanly and just used Word for it’s GUI and offline editing functionality. I believe it was more than just a Save as HTML and then post the document.

I cut and paste from word to wp… but do all the links, etc. in wp. Works for me…

I think if the wp-mail php, etc., could filter/parse the incoming data better, the solution would be there.

Word editor for WP? ugh… do you just want it for easy formatting? why not get the WYSIWYG plugin?

I would be into this plugin just for the spelling, grammar, and other tools that are built into Word. That or make me MarsEdit for Windows.
