    Hi,

I had my site on a temporary link. e.g (www.mymainsite/wordpress)
I have since purchased a domain name for the site and pointed my new domain name @ that folder.

How do I change this over so that http://www.myNEWdomain works properly?

    UPDATE

I hard coded the site change in wp-config.php

Now the site works, however when I try to login to the admin panel, it just keeps resetting the username/password box everytime I try to login.

*Note – If I use the old address to try to login it works. http://www.mymainsite/wordpress/wp-admin
    however
http://www.myNEWdomain/wp-admin gives this weird inability to login

Best way is back up buddy, simply install it on your site run it and it gives you instructions that way you can move entire sites

its a must have for any developer although price tag is pretty high i know many naughty people just download it from a free plugin site

or you could use many of the free alternatives availble

there has to be an easier way. has to be just 1 thing missing or something.

    http://www.domain1.com/wordpress worked.
http://www.domain2.com redirected to first folder works
http://www.domain2.com/wp-admin will not let me login
but if i go back to http://www.domain1.com/wordpress/wp-admin I can log in and browse all the admin pages… but if i try to make a change it redirects to domain2.com/wp-admin and asks me to login. obviously i cannot ;(

why can’t the admin system let me login with domain2 ?

i just ended up re-installing and starting fresh. not the easiest move considering i had all my products added and the theme customized. but whatever. why is this not easier?
