Create Password Field – No Longer Used?

    Hey Mike,

    I’ve been scratching my head over this for a few days now. I can’t be 100% certain, but I thought that with older versions of WP Job Manager (+ WC Paid Listings), users were required to create a password as part of the job listing creation/pay/checkout process? I run a non-job related WC site that allows registration and that site has a create password field. It was my belief that at one point my WP Job Manager site also had fields where customers could create and confirm their own password.

    Can you confirm whether I should still see create password fields or if it was removed/changed as part of one of your updates?

    Hi there,

    AFAIK there has never been a password field on the job submission form – it generates it randomly if you choose to signup.

    Maybe you are talking about another form which isn’t in this plugin – possibly woocommerce checkout? In which case check it’s settings.

    Hey Mike,

    Sorry for the Delay. Hogmanay rush an all that.

    Now that you mention it, I believe the password fields I’m looking for were indeed on the checkout page.

    The setup I have is WP Job Manager along with your WC Paid Listings extension (with Woo Stripe extension).

    Can you confirm if/how I can have the user set their own password using the checkout page password field (a la normal user account creation in WC)?

    Look for the ‘Automatically generate customer password’ setting in WooCommerce.

    Hey Mike,

    Thanks once again. I might be going crazy but I have looked in every WooCommerce setting and Googled a bunch of terms pertaining to “WooCommerce Automatically generate customer password” but I cannot find any reference to this setting. Would you oblige me with a steer in the right direction to this?

    On the plus side, I have figured out that a user can choose their password by buying a job listing pack THEN creating a job listing and choosing to use that pre-purchased pack. A small victory for me! 🙂

    Maybe it’s new in 2.1 – I cannot quite remember. 2.1 is out later this month and definitely has the option.
