Have you tried implementing spam controls?

I’m 99.44% sure that will also address ping and trackbacks too.
But its happening with bots.. which had to be itself controlled by wordpress core.
Isn’t it a fail..!!
And that too $5 a month.
That means, wordpress itself plans to spam its users and charge to stay away from spam..!!
Hell man

What does that have to do with WordPress?
Akismet is free for non-commercial sites. And if yours is commercial, it’s well worth that price.

The link given to me above by Mr Jan.
The link points out that to combat the spam, you can use this plugin with a NOTE that it costs only $5 per month.

*Takes deep breath and yells “SPAM DE-STROYER!” Sounds cool. 😉 *
I think it works with trackbacks and pingbacks but double check.
