• I have been doing some testing of WordPress 2.5.1 and have discovered that this plugin is causing problems with image uploads.

When you use the new upload image feature, it seems to go through the motions of uploading, but doesn’t do the ‘crunching’ (thumbnail generation?) bit and doesn’t show it uploaded.

I have checked via FTP, and it hasn’t uploaded the file.

I checked out the options in the plugin, and there is a section for ‘paths to be accessible’ – I have tried lots of stuff in here and it won’t work. I’m kinda guessing that it is this that is tripping it up.

Not sure how to fix this – any advice? This plugin is sooo useful when you are developing a site, it would be a shame if I couldn’t get it working so I can actually build the site whilst the plugin is still active!!

  • I tried out numerous “thumbnail” plug-ins, none of which worked with version 2.5. If you look at the posted dates, most or all precede the release of 2.5 so all probably need revision to work with the new WP version. The one I finally settled on is iBox. Needed to do a lot of work to get the html to work properly with 2.5, but it does do a nice job once done (the basic .js module works OK). It does not, however, do any of its own “crunching”. You need to create your own thumbnail. That’s a pain, but the result is a very professional experience for site visitors.

    Good luck.
