Basic Settings

    Dear someone,

    I have recently installed the Post by Mail plugin and I was wondering about how to set the basic settings.

    In the activity log I now get:
    An error occurred: Error when communicating with the mail server. IMAP.

    I’m using a gmail account. Can anyone tell me what to exactly fill in at both the basic and the mailbox details.

    Hi,

    First, make sure you’ve enabled IMAP in Gmail. There are instructions here: https://support.google.com/mail/troubleshooter/1668960?hl=en#ts=1665018

    Then, use the following settings:
    Server: imap.gmail.com
    Port: 993
    SSL: Yes

    For the username, make sure to use your full Gmail address, including the “@gmail.com” part.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.
    I did enable the IMAP in Gmail and also used the same settings you proposed but it doesn’t work.

    Is there anything else I could try.

    Hi,

    Here I’m again. I used a new email adres now and that seemed to work. But the messages kept having the pending status.

    Also the pending problem is solved. The only problem left is the fact that the images do not show. Just a frame with a question mark.
