• If you think you’ll be getting a free plug-in, think again.

By installing this plug-in you get… wait for it… NOTHING. You get a free trial version, and then you must buy ($21/domain) if you want to continue using it.

I don’t mind buying. In fact, I already purchased three of similar plug-ins for my sites. However, misleading your customers into thinking they’ll get a free version (the way other vendors do – with limited functionality) is just wrong.

  • The plugin does clearly identify itself as a free version of a premium plugin that allows you a 14 day trial on http://wordpress.org/plugins/social-locker/

It says “The plugin is a free edition of the premium social locker plugin. You can activate premium features for a trial period inside the plugin.”

I don’t want to activate premium features, no problem. The problem is that there are no other features to this plug-in other than premium. What is this premium plug-in doing in directory of free plug-ins?

So why didn’t you try to contact the plugin’s author about your concerns?

I don’t have any concerns. This is my opinion / review of a plug-in, no concerns involved.

A “review” without even attempting to contact support is pretty pointless.

    Hi Lebuda,

Unfortunatly, I don’t understand your concerns and what you mean. This version, placed on WordPress.org, is fully a working version and can be used without any limits for free. Please look at the FAQ section I wrote recently:
