Having colored Background CSS issue

    My Theme (Twenty Eleven) updated yesterday or at least that’s when I updated it. And for some reason it isn’t reading my custom css anymore and my page looks like this…
    I want the css background color to be #f9fcf5 all the way throughout the website and it isn’t reading it.

    body {
    background-color: #f9fcf5;

    that’s what I have and it doesn’t seem to be listening to it. Is there something I’m missing?

    please help.
