Just to throw in some quite normal explanations/questions:
Did you delete the old files or just overwrite them? The first is always best, even though the 3-step upgrade guide instructs you just to overwrite.
Have you emptied your cache and restartet the browser 2-3 times? You should.
Avoid Explorer – Firefox is normally more thrustworthy.
Give more details if you’ve already done these things .

I am too having the same problem when installing 2.5 by ‘automatic update plugin’, I lost my blog and donno what to do. 🙁

stop using a plugin to update your damn site, and do it the old fashioned way.
1. disable your plugins.
2. revert to the default theme.
3. upload the files.
4. load upgrade.php in your browser.
