Can't resize slider photos

Hi – I love this plugin, but I can’t seem to get my photos right. Some are fine, but others are either oddly cropped or the bottom is cut off. Also I can’t seem to resize the slider itself (I’d like to make it smaller). I would like to have each photo automatically resize to include the entire picture. (Do I need to resize each manually?)

I should say right off the bat that I have only a little CSS experience, and if you could recommend a relatively easy solution, I’d be grateful. Thanks so much.

This is the slider I’ve made on one page, which is cropping the photos (I’m trying to replace the slideshows on each page, as they aren’t as nice as your slider and I can’t get them to work properly either):
