“Please update now” strip still shows up after WP 2.5.1 upgrade

    Hi,

    I’ve already updated to WP 2.5.1 but the “Please update now!” strip is still showing up in the dashboard.

    Thought the current Structure theme by Justin Tadlock had something to do with it but the same annoyance appeared in my other WP blogs after updating to WP 2.5.1

    How do I fix this?

    Did you complete the database update?

    Check the URL you are using to access the dashboard.

    @ gmsand : The database update was completed.

    @ guitarbuff: The URL is used to access the dashboard is mysitename/wp-admin/index.php

    Thanks RosieMBanks! I resolved this by deleting the ghost “WordPress” user in the database and removing a plugin entry in the ‘active_plugins’ field in the wp_options table in the database.
