Was there a reason that WordPress didn’t go down this route?
Isn’t this the future of content management?
It is probably not ideal to have inline editing and the backend editing. It doesn’t seem easy to find a solution to combine both without it being confusing for the average user. It would be nice though to have the styling of the theme for the content area in the backend editor. I know there is the possibility of adding wp-admin.css but I am not sure how far that goes.
There are some alternatives to the Barley solution, but probably not as complete… correct me if I am wrong.
FYI, there’s a core group currently working on this feature: http://make.wordpress.org/ui/tag/front-end-editor/ π
Wow, thanks, I didn’t know that!
I will check that out.
A direct link to the plugin in development for others who are interested to try it.
Thanks again!
