    I would like to design my own blog, can someone tell how to do this? I know html and css, but i just don’t know where to start as far as designing my blog is concerned. I know there are templates to use but i want to design my own blog.

    The easiest way to do this (and why make it hard on yourself) is to get an open source template somewhere which is pretty much like what you have in mind, and build on that.
    Some are harder to modify than others, so you might want to look around a bit before you start digging in.

    A good clean one imo to start from are the sandbox themes.

    Thank you I appreciate it. I have a follow up question, with the open source template, would it be possible to design my blog to look very similar in layout to perezhilton.com or thedirty.com?

    Perezhilton is a 3-column layout and everything else is css
