Recurring Payments with EDD Recurring

Can anyone who is using the PayPal Recurring Payments plugin comment on how it works with this plugin, specifically how it updates campaign totals? What I’d like is for a user who wants to pledge a certain level to have the option to pay it all at once, or to split it into multiple payments (recurring), but either way I’d want it to update the campaign by the total amount.
e.g. There is a $500 reward level. The user could pay the $500, or they could chose to pay $50/month for 10 months. Either way $500 should be added to the total amount raised.
