Standard plugin in WordPress Installation: Limit Login Attempts

    Hello WordPress team,

    please integrate the plugin “Limit Login Attempts” or other features to prevent bruteforce attacks in WordPress installations.

    Why:
    I have many failed logins in my WordPress installation and can images other users have similar problems and dont know to fix it and maybe have weak passwords.

    Since this is freely available as a plugin, why add it to core? It may not be suitable for some users. For example, I sometimes limit login access via IP, so I wouldn’t want this.
