WP Installation on sub-domain (2 posts)

    Hi,

Please help! I am attempting to install WP onto a domain I have with Bluehost/CPanel.

I already have wordpress running my blog on friendsofthestars.co.uk, I also have WP installed on cominrecords.com, which is an add-on domain housed within the public_html directory of the main domain. This second installation was done by the guys at installwordpress 4 free.

I now wish to install WP onto another add-on domain - jamessumerfieldmusic.com - which, like cominrecords.com is housed in the public_html directory of the friendsofthestars.co.uk domain.

I have followed the instructions on the WP site - I have created a MySQL Dbase for jamessummerfield, I have amended the config.php file with the UN, PW and name of database and I have uploaded the WP files to the server. However, when I attempt to run the install.php script I get the following message:

    "Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?"

I'm really not sure what I've done wrong. Can anyone help??
    Thanks
    Craig

    DB_HOST will be localhost

After creating the database, and the database user, make sure you Add the user to the database (bottom of the MySQL screen). After you click the Add button, make sure you check the box that assigns All Privileges.
