Get rid of "Read more"

    Deactivate read more:

    .read-more{
    display: none !important;
}

    Then a added a Read More with my desired link in the the text box under the text:
    <br><a href="link">Read More...</a>

    There might well be a better way, but this method will work regardless of what theme is used.
