• Hi

I would like to use a quote collection functionality on my site.

The required situation is to be able to:
    – Manage quotes (add, update, remove)
    – Show the collection of quotes on a page
    – Filter on a tag (example: Health, Wisdom, …)

I’ve investigated several options and would like your opinion on these.

    Option 1:
Use a plugin. The only plugin that’s coming close enough to my expectations is the “Quotes Collection” plug-in.
But this plugin isn’t updated for almost a year and the author’s site is broke… so I don’t expect much updates. Also I’m always a bit worried of installing plugins because of loss of performance.

    Option 2:
    Use the WordPress posts functionality.
Create a category “Quotes” with subcategories “Health”, “Wisdom”, etc.
I can then exclude the category “Quotes” (and hopefully all the subcategories) from the Home/Posts page. I don’t want the quotes show up on my home/posts page.
This should be able by following the following instructions.
I can then create a Menu structure to view All quotes or the quotes related to the subcategories.

Even cooler would be working with tags but I can’t find a solution for that.

Hope someone can help my on making the best choice.

    Thanks
    Joeri
