    HI @lewis Brown,

I hope you are well today.

Hey, ive made a membership level where all the new people are assigned to

What do you mean by new people? Does it mean visitor to your website or user registered using free subscription?

Make sure the membership access level is activated and assigned to the member.

Can you share me your site link to test it?

Also show me the screenshot of membership General Options settings from the path :

Admin -> Membership -> Options -> General Tab

Hey, On my site it is mandatory that you sign up for an account before you can view any of the content, everyone who does sign up gets assigned to a group that will have no permissions (making it so i have to verify them as it is a paid membership website, where all the payments are dealt with outside of the site)

The member access level is set to one i called “no acces” (Will spell it correctly once its working) so evryone who has a just registered gets put into the “no acces” group.

http://clubscooba.com/ is my site but you will have to sign up if you want to view it (if you do sign up could you use your forum name so i know its you and i wont delete you of the system)

    Hi @lewis Brown,

    Thank you for your reply.

Can you just make sure you have assigned proper access levels to the ‘No access’ membership subscription plan and they are activated?

Is it working if you add membership plan to the member from back end?

    Kind Regards,

Hi, Thank you for the help.
ive made some screen shots of what i see, http://imgur.com/a/IhuyM
so in the subscription plan i have now put “no access” into it, and from what i can see on the levels bit ive selected everything on the negative side so people cant see the content. Also what do you mean if i add membership plans from the back end?

    Thanks for the continuous help!

Also what do you mean if i add membership plans from the back end?

It means that you can manually add membership plan to an user, If you go to Membership > All Members and hover over an user on subscription column, an add button should be appeared. Click on that button and add subscription to that and check if it works for that user.

    Hi @lewis Brown,

It should work if you manually add membership plan to an user from back end. Please recheck that the member is getting assigned proper membership plan and access level from back end on the path :

Admin -> Membership -> All Members

Also share the screenshot of it with me.

There can be a plugin or theme conflict. Just check it by creating a test site, installing only membership plugin and using WordPress default theme like Twenty Twelve or Would you mind if I logged in to your site as admin and did some testing? This might help get to the bottom of this faster. If this is ok, just assign me admin role on your site for temporary period, My user name is WPMU_DEV.

    Hey,
Here is a screenshot of the all members page http://imgur.com/6ZplBO5

And i have made you an admin on the site because as you said it would help solve the problem faster (its more then likely im being stupid and missing an obvious thing)

Thank you a lot for the help!

    Hi @lewis Brown,

Thank you for making me admin on your site.

I checked the membership settings on your site but didn’t find any issue in it but i saw you are using many plugins like Members which may be conflicting with membership plugin.

Can you just try using the same membership configuration on another test site without installing any other plugin?

    Hey,
I have made a sub domain and when i try to download the addon i get this error Downloading install package from

    https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/membership.3.4.4.1.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Destination folder already exists. /wp-content/plugins/membership/

    Plugin install failed.

Also i have tried disabling all the addons that might cause conflict and still no luck.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hey again,
I deciceded to disable all plugins and it worked… i then activated them one by one untill it went wrong i have know found it was due to the plugin “Restricted Site Access” with that disabled your plugin works like a charm

    Thanks for the help!!

    Hi @lewis Brown,

Excellent! Glad that sorted it and thanks for letting us know. 🙂
