• I’m using Publicize to push posts out to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, working fine for the first two services, but I’m not getting the desired results on Tumblr – images are not posted.

I understand why – the image is not set as the featured image, is not within the post content, and the post format is not image (all are video).

What I’d like to know is if there is a means of either modifying Publicize to pull the image from elsewhere on the page or to use the og:image tag?

Largely defeats the purpose of sharing to the service at all, if the posts don’t contain a visual element.

    Any ideas would be great…

  • I am having the same issue. I have assigned featured images to my posts. My posts contain galleries, not individual images. In this case, neither create an image in my Tumblr post although both show up in Twitter and Facebook.

I found that on one post, where I had an image in the post that was not part of a gallery, that came through fine on Tumblr. I am looking for a solution to this as well because fo my work I think Tumblr would be a great outlet.
