I am using 2.5.
When I write a post as 'Admin', and get to the author selection box at the bottom, 'Admin' isn't listed, only my members.
If I save the post, it shows the author being someone else, the first member on the list.
Is this a known issue or just me?

Try to give yourself a "nickname" in your profile section.
(it worked with earlier versions...)
I already have a nickname of 'admin'.

Change "admin" to whatever you'd like your readers/viewers to see. (in your case maybe that's "Geoserv")

According to the Admin panel, I can't change my username.
Why should I have to, all of my other post displayed my username, now all of a sudden it displays another.
This is obviously a bug in 2.5

I have this same problem.
No amount of changing things in my profile makes me appear in the Post Author list and it attributes my posts to the first person on the list.

I'll chime in as well. When I write a page or post, the default attribution is to the first name on the list of users. However, commenting works as expected.

Me too me too. I've been having to go back and re-edit posts that are wrongly attributed to the first author on the list.
I'd like it to default to the person who is logged in being attributed as the author. Seems only reasonable.

Mr too. I have a different nickname for my Admin account but I don't get the option to use it. I am the admin but I cannot take credit for my posts...
