• I’m having an issue setting the featured image for a post on a local install. The image uploads successfully, and appears in the media editor but does not appear in the post. Changing post or image has no effect. Error logging returns nothing. Theme independent. No plugins installed.

I recently set up a site using this feature on a mac machine, so I have to conclude this is either a 3.7.1 or windows-related issue.

Windows 8.1, Wampserver running PHP 5.4.12, Apache 2.4.4

  • Cheers. May seem like a stupid question, but did you set the ”Featured Image” for the post in the sidebar at the left hand side?

If so, try to regenerate the thumbs with http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ and reload.

If that’s not working, be sure to check that you have the proper permissions in the wp-content/uploads directory

I’m setting it in the right sidebar of add or edit post, unsuccessfully

I’m not sure if I need that plugin, this issue happens regardless of whether or not the image is new.

Still no luck, I’m pretty sure file permissions are set right, although the /uploads folder displays read only, it also lists all user levels as having write access. I have to assume this isn’t the issue, as the images I upload are getting through there, they just don’t stick to a post.

This error also extends to inserting media in posts and pages as well.
