    Hi,

I’m currently running a wordpress site, and I have just purchased another domain to add to my portfolio.

What I want to do is copy the first site (Theme, Widgets, Images etc) to the new site, so both sites will orginally look identical, apart from the content as I would be using a new database for the new website, them from there I can change the logo/colours of the new site.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Use (import) the full export of the original site’s db, all site files, and then just remove the content (first task once running). You will need to change the home and site url in the db prior to running site (and of course create a proper wp-config.php). You may need to fix some url’s that are hard coded in the db (I would do so by editing the export file). That is it in a nutshell, easy as pie…
