• I’m having trouble uploading a list of signatures to my petition.

I have made sure that my columns match and all that, but the trouble is, I can’t figure out how to save a CSV file with tab separated values???

Every way I have tried doesn’t work and I don’t understand how this filetype could exist anyway…doesn’t CSV stand for comma separated values? What am I missing?

I’ve tried as a CSV and I’ve tried a tab delimited txt, I even thought about trying to save as a CSV, opening in text edit and doing a find and replace on commas to change them to tabs. Problem with that plan was that I have a ‘comments’ field in my petition, which contains a tonne of commas and I just can’t go through a thousand signatures comma-by-comma…

    Help?!

    Thanks!

  • I usually use Excel or similar spreadsheet program from that kind of thing. If you don’t have Excel you can get Open Office & use Calc, their spreadsheet program. Using those, your comment field should be separated already.
