    Hello,

I have 126 images that I am wanting to compress in the media library from 4MB to 800MB. When I bulk optomized it reduced them only by 5% or so which isn’t making a large improvement with my bandwith space. I tried optomizing individually and that did not seem to work either.

Is there some setting that can increase the amount of compression? If image quality is lost a bit that is fine.

    Thanks!

This plugin only does lossless optimization. If you upload a 4 MB image, you will not get it down to 800kb without a huge decrease in quality. Your best bet is to resize them with something like Imsanity, although wordpress already generates resizes automatically that you should be using in most posts/pages. A full-size photograph should almost never be included directly in your web pages. Imsanity lets you set a maximum size that all images will be scaled to (amongst other things).

Thanks so much, it worked perfectly!

silver, i love your plugin because it keeps quality although it compresses. for me that works great.

although i do understand why some people wouldn’t mind sacrificing that for a lower file size.

    anyways kudos.
