Client login – assign role in WP or use of plugin?
-
Dear all,
I was asked to create a login page for employees for the website http://www.teamvoordeel.nl. It has to be on another page than the front page. As the login concerns only employees of the company that need to access only one page of information, and these employees don’t need to be editing/uploading anything, I was wondering what would be the simplest/smartest solution:
1. Creating a ‘client’ portal for the employees following this post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/setting-up-a-free-client-portal-for-wordpress-35?replies=7
2. Using the free version of wp-client lite http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-client-client-portals-file-upload-invoices-billing/screenshots/
3. Create a ‘user’ for every employee in the existing wordpress structure and assign the ‘read’ role to them (I still need to research this one further, because I’m not sure yet if nobody else but the employees can then access the information page)
What is your opinion about this? If you have experience using any of these options, I would love to hear what you think.
Thanks in advance!
Sophie
