• For some time now users where not being able to post comments.. I only noticed it because a visitor mailed me about it.. When somebody clicked on the ‘post comment button’ it went straight to a error page. and gave a error message. It was something like: can’t reach 127.0.0.1.

After searchin the httacces file i found out there was a line in there with that ip.. Turning the ‘block spambot comments’ function off fixed it.

  • If you enable that feature and then try to leave a test comment yourself, do you see the same behavior too?

Yeah it was the same thing.. Also if you for example did not fill in a correct emailadress.. it would not even give a mention about it.. It just goes straight to the error page.

If you want anymore information just let me know.. Or if you want me turn it on again for a while so you can see. Since you make some pretty awesome plugins I would be glad to help 😀

Hello @eeuweb, I have tested the above on one of my blogs and I am able to submit comments without any errors. The theme I use is Suffusion.

What theme are you using? Do you have any other security plugin installed? What security features have you enabled on the plugin?

    Kind regards

I use a theme called reviewit.. This is the website: http://www.documentairenet.nl.

I don’t have other security plugins installed, although in the past I had one but uninstalled it after switching to WP Security.

I have a lot of features enabled, but I dont think there are any (more) settings that have influence over comments..
