Well it was working great then I enabled the minimize html and js and css, then my site just died. Literally. It no longer could connect and everything was timing out. What did this plugin do to it? Even after deleting it, the site still no longer works, I am really frustrated here.

    Hi Brashell;
That indeed must be very frustrating, sorry Autoptimize is giving you that much trouble!

That being said, if you deleted the plugin (i.e. wp-content/plugins/autoptimiz) there’s nothing much it can do to your site; there’s no rewrite-rules or changes to other files. The only other thing left to do is removing the files in wp-content/cache/autoptimize/* (if any).

    Hope this helps,
    frank

Has it stored something in teh database that could be causing issues? This is years worth of work that is going down the tubes if this doesn’t get fixed.

just a couple of options, but if the plugin is removed then those are just siting there, they cannot have an impact on your installation.

based on your description i really think there is something else going on here brashell.

Hey Frank, I wanted to come back and apologize, it wasn’t your plugin causing the issue. The lovely Sucuri Waf got a false positive and banned me from my own website! How lovely is that? When I am unbanned and I restore my site to the FTP backup I made before backtracking I will give your plugin another go. Keep you updated 🙂

Glad to hear it wasn’t Autoptimize B-)

Any idea why Sucuri Waf gave a false positive?

Anyway; good luck and you know where to find me if you have Autoptimize-problems,no? 😉

Yep, I got my site to load in about 1.8 seconds using your plugin, some advanced cache, and some heavy compression. Lets see how fast I can make it this time 🙂

Do you think you can add a feature to minimize some css but not combine them all into one file? I found that some of my files when all combined don’t work properly even after implementing your legacy thing. I am able to do most of them, but about 8 files can’t be. Do you think you can do the same for JS? Also what is the best way for image compression and how might I be able to cache some woof and svg files? (My fonts) I am having in issue trying to implement mod_cache and I don’t want to use w3 as it actually slows my site down believe it or not. I am loading at about 2 seconds to 3 seconds but I know I can go faster. Lol

I was loading about 40 scripts before too

For the mod_cache do you have suggestions or know how to use it?

You can exclude CSS & JS-files from being autoptimized, but in that case they’re indeed not minimized.

Image compression; I installed WP Smush It to optimize images, but there are better plugins for that apparently.

Cache woff/svg-files; that should be configured on the webserver (in the .htaccess file as can be seen here)

Regarding caching; are you talking about WP Super Cache (WordPress plugin) or mod_cache (Apache module)?
