Very Strange Problems with WordPress

When I attempt to activate plugins, they don’t activate. I have to keep re-trying and re-trying until the activation stays on. After clicking the plugin page reloads and shows it was activated but if you navigate away and then return it shows that the plugin isn’t activated. (and none of the plugin features work). This has beeen happening with all plugins, so it’s not a plugin issue.

Also, the site I’m running WordPress on is a daily newspaper. So we use scheduled posts to publish articles at 6AM the next day. What has been happening is that some of the schedule posts have not been getting posted. They just stay scheudled even though the time for them to be published has past. To get them published, I have to go to Edit and then Save and they then publish right away.

I think these two problems may be related since they started happening at the same time.
