I drag duet-software.png image into ecto, and set ecto to embed whole image, just resize it to fit my WordPress blog’s width. Then I press upload button and image is uploaded to the server. When I open FTP browser, I see that every normal image is accompanied by the small thumbnail image (in this case, duet-software.thumbnail.png)
    Why? Can this be fixed?

In ecto forums thread it says that it’s WP fault:

The thumbnail is created in case you want to use that in the post instead.

And no, it can’t be “fixed” because it’s not a bug. It’s intentionally creating a thumbnail of the image. It was designed to do just that.
