• Hello,

Ever since I upgraded to the new version of WordPress, I am getting a lot of problems:

    1. Both my website and admin area take too long to load
    2. Sometimes all my data including posts, categories and tags are not found both in the admin area and on the website. After a page refresh they are back again.
    3. I checked my database and noticed the same error. When I clicked on it the entire database was gone. I refreshed and it was back again.

This is what I have done to solve the problem (without any success):

    1. Optimized database
    2. Repaired the database
    3. Downloaded WP Optimize and WP total cache.
    3. Deactivated plugins

Nothing seems to work. I don’t understand what is causing this problem. I searched the entire web space and couldn’t find anyone else having the same exact problem. Should I go back to the previous version of WordPress?

    My website is wwww.gettingdeeper.com

Not unless you want to increase the risk of being hacked.

Where is your site hosted? Have you asked them?

Have you tried deactivating ALL plugins and switching to the default theme to see if that changes it?

I contacted my hosting provider and they said there doesn’t seem to be any problem on their end.

I did switch to the default theme and it was loading quite fast. However I must mention that this problem keeps coming and going. I am going to give this a day or two and see if the problem comes back.

If it doesn’t come back in 2 days then it has to be a problem with my theme. I will mark this topic as resolved if the problem doesn’t reappear in 2 days!

moderators, several. ‘please’ feel our pain. we’ve been hacked before but this is just as bad, a site that’s very broken.

i have several threads open right trying to solve problems. i upgraded to 3.7.1 29oct and it was seamless. however, saturday, after a host maintenance session, problems started. checking to see if host is at issue as we speak. that said, i did lose data, specifically tags and categories. my host i’ve used for seven years. my theme is that old but has survived the cut so far. i have 30 plugins and i did lose ‘co author plus’ this go-around as she can’t find any authors other than admin. also ‘sabre’ broken. still looking for more glitches.

note: i just tried default theme and deactivated plugs and can’t upload images ‘temp folder missing’ which started all of this. and categories and tags, amongst others missing. no problems two+ years until 3.7.1 wondering if 3.7.1 is configured to mess up some hosts, not intentionally. not sure what to ask or do next.

ronchicago? If your site is hacked then really, please start your own topic.

It’s the best way to get support for your problem without being rude to people who have problems of their own. This is not your topic.

no one said my site is/was hacked. pryla_174 had very similar symptoms under similar circumstances. and 3.7.1 is still humming after host rebuilt server thru the night. no one is sure what went wrong but it took two rebuilds so it seems to have been the server. and i reread my earlier remark and do not think rudeness was there. only thing confirmed is when site is badly broken for two or more days you can’t dismiss anything and are looking for and offering opinions. i hope pryla_174 is up and running smoothly soon.
