   Well I've been wrestling wordpress into a newspaper CMS using various plugins and tricks I've come across. My site is stabroeknews.com

   The only thing left to make it a true CMS is a more Advanced Search Feature. I want to able to search and filter results by category, year, month, and day.

   Is there anything that can produce this?

   Doesnt look like i can specify which category to search with that.
   and King Search seems to be incompatible with you new versions of WP.

   which wordpress template do you use for your website?? or someone please show me what i need to do to start a very simple news website that allows viewers to comment. thanks
