Thanks for this awesome plugin. It is exactly what I need.

I have setup a custom email for notification and have run some tests to see if the expiration is working.

Currently on expiration the role says “Expired on…” in the “All Users” view, but the role did not adjust like I told it to. The role was supposed to go from a premium member setup with S2Member to a subscriber level. I have marked it to do so in the “Edit User” section of Dashboard in the “Expired Users” settings.

It is obvious that the expire time works right, just not receiving emails (though I checked the option of receiving these in the “Edit User” section as well) and role is not adjusting to selected new role as set in “Edit User”- Expire Users section also.

Your help would be much appreciated!

Are experiencing any other functionality issues on your site that may really on cron jobs?

One good example to try is, are Schedule posts working? If you schedule a post to publish in the future does it publish OK?

I tested scheduling a page publish and it worked.

The timing seems to work with the plugin, it just doesn’t actually change the role.

It will say expired at the time it is supposed to do so, it just doesn’t take the action.

Also, along with this is there a way to also get rid of it saying expired if you renew their membership?

    Thanks,
    Brad

    Thanks for checking that.
I’ll look further into these issues…

    Any update?

    Still not working.

It really would be the perfect plugin for me if it was working fully.

    Thanks,
    Brad

I’m experiencing same issue (no emails were sent)

    Cheers!

i have the same issue, the account i set to expire is saying its expired, but no emails were sent, and the user can still log in.

    im using wordpress 3.7.1
    plugin version 0.6
ive disabled all other plugins for the test
using 2010 theme (also to test its not my theme breaking it)

    any idea whats going on?

Please try downloading and installing the current development version to test.

    @fenix692:

    1. With regards to the role not changing could you try setting it to change to a default WordPress role rather than one created with S2Member to check wether there is a compatibility issue there.

    2. In the development version there is a new checkbox which allows you to remove a users expires expiry details when they expire. This means that you can perform actions (such as changing role) when a user expires then remove the expiry details so the user can continue logging in as normal (as it removes the expiry details it just shows the user like a normal user in the admin – it doesn’t currently flag it as expired).

    @enriquemr, @bowersinit
Have you check to ensure cron jobs are working on your installs – do scheduled posts work OK?

I just checked and the development version sends emails on 3.7.1 (release version 0.6 did not). Hooray!

I did notice one strange thing, when the email went out the name (where I inserted %%name%%) was displaying but the letter of the first name was lower-case.

So, in WordPress where someones name is listed as John Smith the %%name%% is john Smith.

    That seems a bit odd.

That is odd, I’ll check that

Still not working properly, i need to deactivate and then activate plugin again in order to send email and change role and date to be expired.

Actually its working but theres a delay, like 20mins and its not set to wordpress time.
    Nice plugin, thank you.
    Just needs a little fixing.

The email and name issues should be fixed in latest version 0.7

@iigor The plugin uses an hourly cron job to expiry users so there could be an hour window of overlap where the user is not expired.

I’ve added a ticket to check that when a user tries to login they won’t be able to during this window.

This post is a bit cluttered now with various topics so please post a new thread if you have any further issues.
