    The problem began around 10 hours ago.

    We upgraded to WP 3.7.1 two days ago and everything seemed ok.
    Straight after, since the website was pretty slow, we also cleaned up revision pages, what solved the slowness problem.

    But this morning, out of the blue, instead of 2-5 seconds between pages (depends on the internet speed), it hangs and hangs and only after more than one minute the pages are being loaded.

    Any help will much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    The plugins are probably not the problem and deactivating all of them didn’t help.

    The problem occurs before the plugins stage.
    The website doesn’t response for one minute plus as if something is wrong with the database or the server.

    We have a second website located besides the main website on the same server:
    http://www.gary-tv.com/garytv/

    All of its plugins are deactivated and it contains only 2 pages.
    Yesterday it took one second to navigate between one page and another.
    Now it takes 2-3 seconds.

    What could be the problem? Should we complain to GoDaddy?

    Yes.

    EDIT – I assumed you had done all of the above – as esmi suggested – so until and unless you have done those, GD probably won’t be willing to help you.

    You really need to carry out all of the steps posted above to confirm that the problems are not specific to your site(s).
