Cannot update home title & description after importing SEO

Hi,

I recently changed over the SEO for one of my old sites from All in One to this Yoast plugin (I use Yoast on all my other sites).

I used the SEO Data Transporter plugin to import the AIO data to Yoast. That worked fine. EXCEPT I cannot save any changes I make to the home page titles or descriptions.
I can however change the other pages fine.

Am I missing I tick box or something? I’ve tried ticking/unticking Force rewrite but that’s not it.

I have since deleted the Transporter plugin in case that was causing a problem.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

same problem override on homepage SEO title / description / social description ….

Also cannot update the homepage Title. Other pages seem to be working fine.

I figured it out for me… make sure only wp_title() is used in header.php inside the title tag. If you have anything else, like something special for the front page, the plugin won’t override it.

It is simply wp_title inside the title tag.

Don’t think that’s it Courtney, as I have this in my header.php:

<title><?php wp_title('|'); ?></title>

I have this for all my sites, but the only one that seems to be playing up is this particular one where I imported the data from All in One SEO via the SEO Data Transporter.

Plus, its the Description that won’t update also, so playing around with the title tag won’t affect that.

There must be something particular about the data imported then.

Yes, obviously the description would not be effected by the title. I posted what fixed the title for me incase it works for someone else.
