I haven’t touched either of my two WordPress plugins for over a year, no less tried to commit changes to either of the SVN repo’s.

So, now that I’m trying to delete one of my old files, in the tags directory, for both of my plugins, I’m getting Authentication Failed.

Does anyone have the SVN Password Reset Link ?

Thanks

( What’s frustrating is that I’m not even doing any development. I just simply want to remove the php file, so that it doesn’t show up when you Google my email.. the main plugin php file is right there on the screen, and potential employers might google it and see the crappy code, with commented out debug lines, in these old files)

The password is the same as you used to login and post here.

Your problem may be the userID, which is case sensitive. Yours is pythoPhpSteve

If that doesn’t work, email plugins AT wordpress.org please 🙂 Oh and tell them what plugin, the full error, etc etc.

I know about the auth being the same between svn and the site login. But I continued getting:

WordPress.org login
Username: pythoPhpSteve
Password for ‘pythoPhpSteve’: ************
Authentication realm: <http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org:80> Use your WordPress.org login

It continually told me that I’m doing things wrong, even though I was using the regular site login for wordpress.org.

So what I finally did, is just log out of wordpress.org, went back to login screen, and click “forget”. And when I got the new password emailed to me, and used that on SVN, wa-la, it worked.

I think my svn account just got stale, for some reason, and simply didn’t want to authenticate me, even though the same user/pass always worked for the site.

So, good to go

That shoudn’t happen unless you hadn’t logged in for about 3 years (which is when we reset everyone’s passwords)
